Pahzitnov's Puzzle                                                                                                    April 8, 2015

ACRYLIC ON CANVAS 18"x18"

This one is based of Alexi Pahzitnov's classic puzzle game, TETRIS, one of my personal favorite and possibly the most popular game on Earth. I remember playing this as a child and achieving a level of zen to the pace of the falling blocks, hypnotized until I became the blocks, moving quickly and with purpose. The opportunities for points will also be your death, the blocks offer a high score and inevitiable demise. That's the main thing that I like about this game: you can't win. You accept your eventual demise, and you play anyway, like life. Things just build up constantly, any victories only allow for more to build up, it gets really fast and stressful, and then you die. Enter high score.
